Working with the Board of Trustees, teachers and administrators from across the district developed a list of requested items to consider for inclusion in a 2017 bond package. Pewitt CISD has been evaluating current facilities and equipment, ongoing enrollment and district priorities with the Board of Trustees to collectively compile a list of items that reflect
responsible stewardship and a forward-thinking mindset.
Projects are planned to be completed with the passage of the bond, including a new 58,000 SF elementary school. The 58,000 SF building will be an addition to the east side of the Carver Activity Center. When the construction is finished, the students will move into the new school building.
What is a bond? A bond is similar to a home mortgage in many ways. It is a contract to repay borrowed money with an interest rate over time. Bonds are sold by school districts to competing lenders to raise funds to pay for the costs of construction, renovations and equipment.
